1. Scope
These terms apply to the codeme desktop app and this website (together, "the Service"). Installing the app or using this site means you accept them. If you do not, do not install the app, or delete it — there is no cancellation process and nothing to notify, because no account is left behind.
2. What is provided
codeme is a tool that handles the following in one desktop window.
- Creating, deleting and switching git worktrees
- Branch history, staging, commits and pushes
- File editing and a terminal
- Running and managing sessions of AI agent CLIs already installed on your machine
- Reading tickets and pull requests from GitHub, Forgejo and Jira, only where you entered a token yourself
What is not provided. We run no server that stores, transmits or backs up your code. Hosting, collaboration, remote execution and account management are not part of the Service.
3. What the licence covers
codeme's source code is not published. The distributor grants you the right to install and use the build provided to you for personal and work purposes; that right is neither transferable nor exclusive.
The following is not permitted — redistributing, selling or renting the build, reverse engineering it, including disassembly and decompilation, and using the name "codeme" and its logo on software that is not the distributor's.
4. Accounts and fees
There is no account. No sign-up, sign-in or authentication exists, and nothing is charged for use of the Service. Fees for the AI agents, model APIs and repository or issue-tracker services you use separately are a matter between you and each provider.
5. Your responsibilities
- Your data is yours. This app reads and writes files on your disk. Backups are your responsibility.
- Take care with destructive actions. Deleting a worktree, force-moving a branch, and file changes an agent makes can produce results that cannot be undone. Whether to give an agent permission to run is your decision.
- Use it only on repositories you are authorised for. Do not use this tool against repositories or systems you do not have access to.
- Look after your tokens. Issue repository and issue-tracker tokens with the least privilege they need, and revoke them at that service immediately if you suspect they have leaked.
6. Third-party tools and services
codeme runs third-party tools already installed on your machine and connects to third-party services you point it at — chiefly AI agent CLIs, language servers, git, and GitHub, Forgejo and Jira.
We neither bundle nor install these for you, and we are not responsible for their behaviour, quality, availability or pricing. Each is used under its own provider's terms and policies. In particular, code and prompts handed to an AI agent may be transmitted to that agent provider's servers, and how they are handled is decided by that provider.
7. Your code
Copyright in the code and documents you write or modify with this app belongs entirely to you (or to the original rights holder). We acquire no rights in it, and we do not collect it.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS". We make no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will run uninterrupted, that it is free of errors, or that no data will be lost.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the applicable law allows, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of code, loss of business and interrupted work.
This clause does not limit liability for damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Changes and discontinuation
These terms may be revised, and the revision date on this page is updated when they are. An app already installed keeps working, so anyone who does not accept a revision may keep using the version they have, or delete it.
We may discontinue the Service (this website and the provision of builds) at any time. An app already installed runs inside this computer without a server, so discontinuation does not stop you using it.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a dispute the parties will seek to resolve it in good faith, and failing that either may bring an action before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
12. Contact
For questions or reports about these terms, tell the distributor through wherever you got the build. For anything about the handling of personal data, please read the Privacy Policy as well.
